Return to NAI'A

From Desert to Sea
Date: October 6 -13, 2001
Destination: Lomaiviti Express
Special Guests: Returning passengers Kandy Kendall, Rod & Jacqui Stanley

Bonnie & Dan of Arizona.

The best part of our job is the friends we make aboard NAI'A. So when our friends return - and bring along some new mates to share the experience - the trip is a guaranteed winner. Video producer, Kandy Kendall, from Arizona, has been a central part of NAI'A expeditions in Fiji, Tonga, Vanuatu and Kiribati - for videography, scientific research and just plain fun. She now has her own name plaque on the door of her favorite cabin and the crew keeps for her a special "bilo" on kava nights. In the five years since we met Kandy, we've watched her transform from a nervous beginner video shooter with good diving ability to a total pro camerawoman with superb diving skills. However, her friends completely out-slug her in the kava stakes.

Yes, people are often very different underwater than they are on the surface. But then, sometimes not, as these pictures so vividly reveal.

Wow what a trip! Crew fabulous, dive sites remarkable. Thanks for making NAI'A "home" for this past week. A spectacular week of diving with a fabulous group of people - the biggest stress was deciding which delicious meal to choose from the menu!

Thank you so much for a wonderful time. As a novice diver, I felt very comfortable. The weather, the diving, the crew, the newly made friends and especially you guys, Rob, Cat and the "boys", are world class. This is an experience I will remember for the rest of my life.
